A family-run soft fruit company based in the heart of England producing 5,000 tonnes of soft fruit to the multiples.

Job role details
A practical self -motivated individual who can who likes working outdoors in good or poor weather, with a keen interest in plant growth and its vigour.
Feeding daily and monitoring the plants health to produce the grams per varietal expected grams of the plant. Utilising the irrigation equipment and systems used. Maintaining the irrigation machinery and any equipment associated to irrigation.
Key responsibilities:

Understand, calculate the appropriate dosage rates for fertigation to achieve plants’ vigour and growth.

To feed liquid fertiliser to strawberry and raspberry plants

Ensure all records are correctly, promptly, and accurately kept associated to applications to the plant

Use computer and hand-held devices to monitor feeding regime

Fix maintain irrigation pipes, pumps as appropriate

Understanding biological control and applications

Observe plants health e.g., foliar, soil and make decisions on feeding regimes to be used
-
Mix feeds and ability to inform management where changes need to be altered

Observe irrigation data and remove unnecessary field water usage

To carry out all duties as requested by management in a timely and efficient manner.

Flexible attitude to working week therefore a willingness to work anti-social working hours if required

Mathematics

Computer literate

Innovative and likes learning.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 12 months growing experience ideally in the soft fruit or horticulture industry

Clean driving licence B class
-
ATV licence advantageous but not essential
-
Excavator certification.
